INTRODUCTION

Marvin was born in Brockton, Massachusetts in 2007.  There he went from his birth home to a home that already had two grown cats.  We are not sure how well he adapted since he was only two months old when he was thrust into that environment.  His main task in his new family was to cheer up the matriarch of the family who was coming home from a long hospital stay.  What an honorable job he had, even as a little fella!
Although he was so adorable, and I’m sure he was able to fulfill all expectations, this household was not ready to take on the responsibility of a new kitten and off to the Brockton Animal Shelter he went.

He spent about five days in the cage when he was discovered by one of his current owners, a person who has an almost weird understanding of the cat psyche.  Marvin, then named Junior, quickly won over the heart of his new owner.  He soon won over the heart of the other human with which he would share his future home (which was no small task, since she was not interested in owning a cat and was previously a large-breed dog owner).

Within 1 hour of being discovered he was put in a cardboard box for the ride back to Brighton, Massachusetts.  There was a major rain storm that night and he was scared in his dark box.  After releasing some kitty sized squeals he arrived in Brighton safe and sound.

Once home, it wasn’t long before one could notice that Marvin was not doing well.  He had to spend another day and a half in a cage at a local animal hospital.  The short hospital stay worked miracles, and Marvin was sent home as a playful, rambunctious kitty.  A few months later, he was back to the hospital for neutering.  He took the entire procedure like a champ!

After such a whirl wind, it was nice to finally stay HOME and start settling in.  It was not long until his new house belonged to HIM.  The multiple towers, sleeping spots, cat grass and cat toys, signify to all who enter his domain that it is HIS, no doubt about it!

Cats have their personalities, but Marvin has a presence.....and an attitude.  We could all benefit from having a bit of Marvin in ourselves.

Marvin wants attention, and to be recognized for majesty and awesomeness, but NO touching!!  If hair number 132 is out of place, he will stop everything to fix it.  He is constantly prettying himself.  He looks F-I-N-E, but is only to be admired from afar, no kisses, petting or hugging, PaaahhhLEASE!

I hope you can enjoy this blog and put a little Marvin philosophy in your life! (what would marvin do?)

marvin, not just a name, a state of mind.
